Nature lovers rejoice! In just seven days and six nights you can explore two of the most iconic places in Costa Rica: Arenal Volcano National Park and Tortuguero National Park, two crown jewels of our beautiful country, all in the company of a private guide!
Designed as an introduction to Costa Rica’s natural wonders, this itinerary boasts days focused on the varied and vibrant flora and fauna of the country. Explore Costa Rica’s hot springs, rainforests, lava flows, and wetlands while searching for sloths, turtles, myriad birdlife, monkeys, and more! Evenings are spent in comfortable accommodations in the heart of the action, and rest assured, meals will be a highlight of the trip – especially those hosted by our trusted local friends!

Itinerary
SAN JOSÉ
Costa Rica Nature Lovers Tour Day 1. Upon your arrival in San José, Costa Rica and after passing through Immigration you will be met by a member of the National Chamber of Tourism (CANATUR) who will give you a sticker with your name and Costa Rica Sun Tours logo that will facilitate our representative to identify you after you exit the airport building.
After clearing immigration and customs, exit the airport terminal and look for a Costa Rica Sun Tours representative who will be waiting for you holding a sign with Costa Rica Sun Tours logo and your name on it. He/she will greet you and present you with land portion vouchers and transfer you to your hotel in San Jose.
Early evening join your guide for an orientation briefing where you will have the opportunity to get an overview of the following days activities, ask questions to prepare for the trip.

ARENAL VOLCANO NATIONAL PARK
Costa Rica Nature Lovers Tour Day 2. Early this morning after you have enjoyed breakfast you private guide and driver will be waiting for you at the hotel lobby to start this amazing journey through some of the most beautiful areas of Costa Rica.
La Fortuna area will be your home for the next two nights, a few years ago La Fortuna was mainly known for the imponent Arenal Volcano, actually the volcano is not active but there are a lot of different attractions in the area that visitors can enjoy every day of their stay.
Before arriving to your hotel you will visit Danaus Biological Reserve where you will have the chance to observe a vast variety of plants, reptiles, insects, mammals and others – a great introduction to the richness of the region.
Following this magical experience you’ll stop for a visit to Arenal Vida Campesina Organic Farm. Your visits begins with a delicious lunch followed by a walk where you will learn about different crops the family produce there.
After this new experience your guide and driver will take you to the hotel.
In the evening, after you have enjoyed a delicious dinner at the hotel and before you head to bed, we encourage you to join your guide to explore the hotel gardens and search for some of the amazing nocturnal creatures that are active at this time of day – definitely a must do activity.

Costa Rica Nature Lovers Tour Day 3. This morning you’ll join your guide after breakfast for a refreshing nature walk. Follow along the different trails and gardens of the property while keeping a keen eye out for myriad bird species and many other rainforest animals that are usually seen around the hotel grounds.
After lunch be ready for another amazing experience in the forest, this time you will have the chance to observe the forest from a different perspective, above the canopy forest while you walk the different hanging bridges of Mistico.
The only way to top off this wonderful day is relaxing at the most beautiful hot springs of Central America, Ecotermales. Here, you’ll have ample time to enjoy the soak and relax with the warm natural waters coming from the volcano.

Costa Rica Nature Lovers Tour Day 4. This morning after breakfast, you’ll travel with your guide to La Pavona Dock in Guapiles. Upon arrival, you will board a boat for a private transfer to Tortuguero and ultimately your beautiful home for the next two night amid the tropical forest.
In the afternoon join your guide on a private two-hour boat tour along “Costa Rica’s Little Amazon”, the Tortuguero Canals. This incredible experience is punctuated with your captain and guide looking out for some of the exciting wildlife that can be found in this amazing habitat.

Costa Rica Nature Lovers Tour Day 5. Get up and ready for another day in paradise! Today you will delve further into the different beauties of Tortuguero with two different private boat tours! The canals of Tortuguero National Park have so much to offer you could spend days boating up and down them! Splitting up between a morning and afternoon boat experience allows us to explore two very different sections of the park.
A visit to this area would not be complete without walking around the picturesque little village of Tortuguero with your guide. The small village has only one street with a few stores and small restaurants or locally named “sodas”. You are in for a real treat at lunch when we will take you to one local celebrity’s restaurant “Miss Junies”.

This morning after breakfast you will return by private boat to La Pavona Dock in Guapiles where your driver will be waiting for you and your guide, ready to take you to Pierella Ecological Gardens in Sarapiqui area. These gardens are a perfect pit-stop en-route back to San José allowing you to enjoy a little more wildlife and nature, and a delicious lunch!
After this unforgettable experience you set off for San José for your final night.
